Shopping in London can be a complicated affair, especially given how utterly vast our beloved capital is. However, have no fear, as this list details all of the best shopping destinations that London has to offer. You may know of some of these already, but hopefully, there will be a few that you can make a day out of visiting them. You’ll find malls, shopping centres, markets, streets, and more in this list. So get your most comfortable shoes on, grab a spacious bag or two and, let’s be real – an umbrella just in case – and have a great time!

1. Oxford Street
Oxford Street is a one-stop shop for any kind of item you wish to purchase. No matter your budget, or interest, whether it’s interior design, clothing or technology, you’ll find it here with shops like River Island, John Lewis, and Marks & Spencer.
The busiest street in London, there are 300 shops, outlets, stores, and choices from British and international designers found here, but we’d recommend going early in the morning when there are fewer tourists around. Due to its busy atmosphere, it is highly recommended that you visit in the early morning or at a time of year when it’s less hectic!

2. Westfield
One of the most well-known shopping centres in London, Westfield is a mall that also has locations in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. This mall boasts 255 different shops such as West Elm, Urban Outfitters, Lush, Mango, River Island and Apple. There are also delicious foodie outlets available all around the mall, so if the shopping gets too much, you can sit down and easily recharge your batteries! You can find Westfield in both Shepherd’s Bush and Stratford City (which actually is the largest shopping centre in the whole of Europe).
They also have luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Versace, Burberry, Gucci and Dior. You can also find a cinema with a seating capacity of 3000. Westfield is an excellent option if it’s rainy as it’s all covered.

3. Camden Market
Camden Market is the place to go if you’re an artsy or alternative individual. You’ll find it to be one of the best shopping destinations in London, and you’ll find everything here from vintage clothes to accessories and even antiques. The complex includes the Electric Ballroom, Camden Lock Village, Inverness Street Market, and Stables Market.
They have super cool wares. They sell clothing so you can get something new or do a spot of thrifting. Apart from that, they also sell handmade crafts, books, jewellery, bags, shoes, furniture and yummy street food. You will not find any chain shops or high-street brands here. Famous among tourists is also a favourite for locals, as everyone can appreciate the singularity of this boisterous neighbourhood.

4. Brick Lane
If you enjoy flea markets, then Shoreditch’s Brick Lane is the place to go. Brick Lane Market is always a good time with an excellent underground space that sells clothing, records, jewellery, and vintage furniture. Even if you don’t buy anything, you can have a go at bargaining with the vendors and maybe end up leaving with quite the steal. While wandering around the area, make sure you grab a bagel from one of bakeries. They’re so good that it’s totally worth the queue.
Another iconic shopping spot in Shoreditch is Boxpark. It’s the first pop-up shopping mall in the world and it houses some very unique shops and gourmet food retailers to boot too.
Shoreditch is also home to many British designers and small, independent shops. Be sure to visit the Columbia Road flower market; trust us, you’ll be coming back every Saturday!

5. Marylebone
Marylebone is known for having luxury brands. It has the Selfridges Food Hall, which serves as a fantastic supermarket. The high street is showered in designer stores, with The Conran Shop in particular displaying its wares in a beautiful space. You’ll also find Brora in Marylebone, where you can get one of their iconic and cosy cashmere jumpers.
You will also find some hidden gems as you wander around Marylebone. One example is Purl Bar London, where they offer a unique sensory cocktail experience. However, if you’re up for some more shopping, be sure to check out Maje and the Monocle shop.

6. Notting Hill
Notting Hill is the ‘it-girl’ of places to shop in London. There are an endless number of stylish shops, healthy restaurants and fun places to discover here. You’ll find restaurants like Ottolenghi, Tonkotsu, and Gold. All of these are ridiculously good, and you’ll probably find yourself making a second reservation before you even leave.
As for shopping, Notting Hill has got you covered. Reformation, American Vintage and Goldsmith Vintage are just a few of the many unmissable shops you will find here. Portobello Road Market might ring some bells. It’s incredibly popular with tourists, so going to Notting Hill during the week would be a wise choice, however if you’re more into weekend shopping, be aware it may be a bit crowded.
You’ll also find the legendary Electric Cinema here, where you can catch a film while lying on a bed!

7. Covent Garden
Covent Garden is a dream for anyone who is into luxury clothing, as here you’ll find brands like Dior, Sandro, Paul Smith and Hackett. It doesn’t end there. If you are into beauty, you will find brands such as Jo Malone, Miller Harris and Penhaligon’s.
There are plenty of womenswear and menswear options, so it doesn’t matter what you prefer to dress in; you will find something you’ll love.
You will find that walking is the best way to get to know Covent Garden. While you’re milling about the scenic cobbled streets, you’ll have the opportunity to revel in the beauty of its architecture. One of the most special spots in Covent Garden is Neal’s Yard, an almost secret alleyway in the heart of the neighbourhood, housing unique shops and restaurants.

8. Chelsea
Chelsea is another well-known place to go shopping in London. You’ll find shops like Taschen, John Sandoe Books and Peter Jones among many other prestigious ones too. Even though, Chelsea is considered to be quite the fancy area, you’ll be able to find something lovely no matter your budget.

29 Fantastically Fun Things To Do In London This Weekend
The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt, combining 42 quilts and 23 individual panels, has taken over the Tate Modern’s iconic Turbine Hall, in a moving display to coincide with Pride Month.
This moving display (and uber rare opportunity) shows us how the project has been shown outdoors as a form of protest to raise awareness for the ongoing AIDS pandemic.
This vast work has been laid out in a grid across the entire floor of the gallery’s main hall, with The UK AIDS Memorial Quilt being just one chapter of the largest community art project in the world.
The project began state-side back in the mid-1980s, when American activist Cleve Jones started inviting people to create textile panels to commemorate the friends, family and loved ones they lost to AIDS.
These individual panels became quilts, which were then used as a form of protest to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS. In the late 1980s, Scottish activist Alastair Hume visited San Francisco, where he witnessed an early display of the quilt, inspiring the activist to start creating a British alternative – just like many countries across the globe.
One of its largest public showings was the ‘Quilts of Love’ display in June 1994 at Hyde Park Corner, presenting selected panels from the US and the UK, alongside sections created by fashion designers. That is, until now…
Today it stands as an important reminder of those who were lost, and of the fact that HIV and AIDS continue to affect people and communities today, and you can go and check it out right now at the Tate Modern.
Siobhán Lanigan from the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt Partnership said, “The purpose of our partnership is to have the Quilt seen as often as possible in as many places as possible. The display in the Turbine Hall marks the largest showing of the UK Quilt in its history, reaching the biggest audience it has ever known.”
There are even events to coincide with the installation, including a documentary screening exploring the project, as well as a reading of all the names with poetry and choir arrangements. For more information on the exhibition and the events that coincide, click here.
